The Beginning Place is a community-led Australian not-for-profit organisation (charity registration pending) founded on the belief that lasting change happens when people walk alongside one another. Created from lived experience, we exist to build stronger individuals, families and communities by fostering genuine connection, restoring hope and creating opportunities for people to thrive.
We believe no one should have to face life's challenges alone. Our work is brought to life through three key initiatives. Ground Zero Youth Space provides young people with a safe place to connect, grow and discover purpose. Coming Home is a live-in family restoration program that helps rebuild relationships affected by addiction and incarceration. Naturally Aboriginal celebrates the richness of Aboriginal culture through quality apparel and products, with every purchase helping to support our community programs.

Ground Zero Youth Space is a community-led initiative of The Beginning Place, providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment where young people can connect, belong and thrive. Designed for all young people, with a focus on those who may be vulnerable, disengaged or facing challenges, Ground Zero offers opportunities to build confidence, develop life skills, strengthen relationships and discover purpose through mentoring, recreation, cultural connection, creative activities and practical learning. By fostering resilience, encouraging positive choices and creating genuine connections, Ground Zero empowers young people to become valued, confident and active members of their community. Coming Home is a live-in family restoration program delivered by The Beginning Place. It provides a safe and supportive environment where families affected by addiction and/or incarceration can reconnect, rebuild trust and develop the skills needed to move forward together. Through guided activities, mentoring, family support, practical life skills and shared experiences, families are given the opportunity to heal relationships, strengthen communication and create a foundation for lasting change. Our goal is not simply to reunite families, but to restore hope, belonging and healthy relationships that can be sustained long after the program ends.
We are currently seeking a beautiful family home, rural property or estate to become the permanent home of Coming Home—a live-in family restoration program of The Beginning Place.
Coming Home will provide families affected by addiction and/or incarceration with a safe, supportive environment where they can rebuild trust, strengthen relationships and create new beginnings together. More than just a place to stay, it will be a place where healing begins, hope is restored and families are given the opportunity to reconnect in a nurturing home environment.
